Lindsey

Lindsey’s story started in February 2014 when her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She visited her home city of Halifax shortly after the diagnosis, where they discussed her prognosis and treatment. When she returned to Calgary, she booked an appointment to see her family doctor to better understand her mother’s situation, Lindsey’s personal risks, as well as the proper way to perform a self examination. During the self-check, her family doctor noticed a lump in her right breast, and they collectively decided to send her for an ultrasound, mammogram and biopsy. Six months after her mom was diagnosed, in August 2014 Lindsey was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Lindsey’s treatment plan included a bi-lateral mastectomy, and 6 rounds of FEC-D Chemotherapy.

During her treatment, she was fortunate to have discovered the amazing community of Pink Pearl and was able to participate in so many wonderful events. Today, Lindsey is living in Halifax with her wonderful husband and two loving daughters (2 & 4). She is a leader in both her professional and recreational circles. Lindsey is working as a CEO for a local business in Halifax, is an active participant in the women in business community, and is on the board of directors for the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC).

Lindsey is excited to be able to give back to the amazing community that has given her so much strength to go through one of the most challenging times in her life, and is looking forward to broadening the reach of Pink Pearl in the Atlantic region.
