“I was diagnosed with Her2 positive breast cancer in March of 2018. It was an extremely long journey filled with 16 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries which included a double mastectomy, a year of targeted IV treatment, and endless tests and needles.  I really had no clue how difficult treatment would be, nor did I know how hard it would be when treatment finished.  I thought that once I was “done” things would return to normal, which hasn’t been the case at all.
After being diagnosed I was lucky to learn about Pink Pearl Canada and attended my first retreat in March of 2019, shortly after my double mastectomy. I was terrified, anxious and nervous to attend and almost backed out at the last minute. I’m so glad that a fellow warrior convinced me to go and push through those uncomfortable feelings because I had such an incredible experience and connected with so many women, who I have become very close with. I knew from that experience that I wanted to become an ambassador and help other women who were facing a cancer diagnosis. We may not all have the same type of cancer, but we seem to connect on a deeper level than anyone can explain.
I am so grateful for Pink Pearl and my new friendships which I will hold close to my heart forever.”
