“I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia on Christmas Eve in 2019, a week ahead of my 24th birthday. It came as such a shock to me and my whole family that I feel like none of us really processed anything that happened in those first few weeks. I underwent months of chemotherapy at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre with my family and friends by my side until finally reaching molecular remission. While the cancer and the treatments appear to be in the past, it’s something that will always be a part of my life. Which is why I wanted to get involved in an organization that provides that unique support to young women with cancer in ways other support systems may not be able to. It’s such a unique and meaningful organization and I am so grateful to become a part of it!”
